About the Role:

UPshow is a rapidly-growing, Chicago-based technology startup seeking a strategic & creative marketing specialist to join our marketing team. The Content Marketing Specialist will be accountable for all content marketing initiatives at the company -- blogs, partner articles, SEO, social media management, customer engagement, and email marketing.


The ideal candidate possesses 1-3 years of digital marketing experience, specifically generating inbound interest and increasing customer engagement and retention. You will love this position if you’re comfortable reporting directly to our CMO and being in a role that will be counted on to build our competitive edge in both prospecting and retention through strategic creativity.



Lead Content Marketing Strategy

○   Manage editorial calendar and strategy for all published content

○   Establish partnerships beyond UPshow’s blog for posting content

○   Write and distribute regular customer success stories

○   Balance newsworthy content with “cornerstone” pieces

Lead Internal Email Marketing Strategy

○   Analyze data to segment customers and develop effective email marketing campaigns throughout the customer lifecycle

○   Compose and send customer emails

○   Drive timely, contextual, and valuable touchpoints

○   Drive referral and upsell opportunities for customer success and sales teams

○   Recognize & reward top-performing customers

○   Proactively provide opt-in customization opportunities (spotlights, custom CTAs, etc.)

Lead Social Media Marketing

○   Manage editorial calendar and strategy for all published content across Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn

○   Focus on balance of brand building, customer spotlights and lead generation

Manage Advocacy/Customer Satisfaction Programs

○   Continuously recruit new customer advocates

○   Manage quarterly customer satisfaction surveys

○   Target happy customers for upsell & referral opportunities

○   Be an effective liaison between customers and the rest of the organization

○   Provide product feedback to the tech team

○   Build a community of fanatical brand advocates

○   Help marketing and sales meet business objectives through customer advocacy initiatives (referrals, testimonials, references, etc.)



●      Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent

●      1-3 years of content marketing, digital marketing, or related experience

●      Creative marketing and communication skills to engage and motivate customers

●      Excellent written communication skills

●      Social media and internet research savvy

●      Ability to analyze data and provide valuable insights

●      Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

●      Strong business acumen with a customer-oriented approach

●      B2B content marketing experience (preferred)

●      Basic graphic design ability (plus)

●      Account Management experience (plus)
